ROTORCORP TO OPERATE UNDER ‘CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE INDUSTRY’ GUIDANCE BY U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY IN RESPONSE TO COVID-19
Rotorcorp, LLC is a critical global supplier of parts and major components for Robinson R22, R44 and R66 helicopters. The Robinson helicopter market is the largest in the world, with over twelve thousand helicopters in operation globally – more than all other civilian helicopters combined. The Robinson helicopter is widely used by essential operators like first responders, law enforcement, and militaries, as well as critical industries such as manufacturing, agriculture, oil & gas, and commercial fishing. Rotorcorp currently counts these essential and critical operators among the more than one thousand customers served by the company in over 45 countries around the world.
On March 19th, 2020 The U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Cyber and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued guidance in a Memorandum on Identification of Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers During COVID-19 Response. This Memorandum follows the March 16th, communication issued by the President: Coronavirus Guidance for America.
This guidance states that:
“If you work in a critical infrastructure industry, as defined by the Department of Homeland Security, such as healthcare services and pharmaceutical and food supply, you have a special responsibility to maintain your normal work schedule.”
Critical Infrastructure Industry Designation:
According to the Presidential Policy Directive 21 (PPD-21) there are 16 designated critical infrastructure sectors whose assets, systems, and networks, whether physical or virtual, are considered so vital to the United States that their incapacitation or destruction would have a debilitating effect on security, national economic security, national public health or safety, or any combination thereof. Rotorcorp directly and indirectly serves the Critical Manufacturing, Food & Agriculture, and Emergency Management Sectors. As listed in the policy directive, these Critical Sectors are crucial to the economic prosperity and continuity of the United States. A direct attack on or disruption of certain elements of the manufacturing industry could disrupt essential functions at the national level and across multiple critical infrastructure sectors.
Per the CORVID-19 response plan issued by CISA, Rotorcorp is designated as a Critical Industry under the Critical Manufacturer of Aerospace Parts and our primary activity as a distributor and seller of Aerospace parts is specifically cited therein.
