R66 Turbine 2000 Hour OH Kit (KI-6602) **DISCONTINUED**

Includes: main rotor and tail rotor blades, spindles, flex plates, belts, main & tail gearboxes, swashplate, clutch, pitch control, TR driveshaft and shoulder harness. NOTE: As of October 2023, KI-6602 no longer includes tail cone assembly, reference supplemental kits below for appropriate options.

R66 Turbine 2000 Hour OH Kit (KI-6606)

The previous KI-6602 R66 2000 Hour Inspection Kit (above) has been replaced by the new KI-6606 R66 2000 Hour Inspection kit to better reflect changes to longer life limitations. These life limit changes can be referenced at R66 Service Letter 48 “Revised Life Limitations” dated 5, September 2024 and R66 Service Letter 49 “Changes to 2000 Hour Kit” dated 16, October 2024.

IMPORTANT: The revised contents of KI-6606 have been greatly reduced and may not include all items required to complete your 2000 hour overhaul.  Additional major items may be needed to be purchased.  View KI-6606 2000 Hour Kit Contents for a comprehensive list of additional item options and 

Rotorcorp has prepared a comprehensive list of additional items not included in the KI-6606 kit that may be required for completion of the 2000 hour inspection.

As of October 2, 2023 the R66 2000 hour kit has been modified to accommodate the new style tail empennage with improved horizontal stabilizer in compliance with R66 Service Letter 46 “Symetrical Horizontal Stabilizer”.  See options KI-6602-1/-2  options below.

Includes: Improved tail empennage and horizontal stabilizer assembly for use in jurisdictions where airworthiness approval has been issued by Civil Air Authority (CAA) has issued airworthiness approval. The improved assembly has a 4000 hour life limit. Additional paint and other configuration charges apply.

R66 2000 Hour OH Kit Core Charge, Refundable (R8481)

The core charge is forwarded by the Service Center to Robinson Helicopter Company and is refunded upon receipt and inspection of acceptable core components.

NOTE: The R8481 core charge includes a  refundable $500 charge for the tail rotor assembly and a $1000 charge for the main rotor blade assembly.

R66 Turbine 12-Year Inspection Kit

Rotorcorp is pleased to introduce the comprehensive R66 12-Year Inspection kit! With its original FAA type certificate approved in November 2010 and production commencing in 2011, the first wave of Robinson R66 Helicopters are now reaching their 12-year calendar limit in 2023. In contrast to the R44 12-year procedure, Robinson has introduced a streamlined and simplified 12-year service process for the R66 which provides operators with enhanced control over their helicopter’s maintenance schedule and budget.

The Rotorcorp Team can easily add or remove any items from our 12 year kit to suit your maintenance needs.

R66 Turbine 12-Year Inspection Kit (RC-6612Y)

Includes: All “remove and replace” stipulated in § 1-92 and § 5-50 in addition to overhaul exchange main rotor blades, tail rotor blades, main rotor gearbox, clutch and swashplate. We have also included all additional spares and hardware required for the easy installation of these items. (See notes below)

R66 Turbine 12-Year Core Charge, Refundable (6612Y-Core)

Core Deposit paid for OH/EX main rotor blades, swashplate, clutch and main rotor gearbox. The core charge is forwarded by the Service Center to Robinson Helicopter Company and is refunded upon receipt and inspection of acceptable core components. The amount of the core charge refunded to the customer is typically 80-85% of the amount paid, as determined at the sole discretion of Robinson Helicopter Company.

The Continued Airworthiness Instructions for the R66 12 Year Service can be located in the R66 Maintenance Manual (Sept 2023) § 1-92, A “12 Years” with additional procedures detailed in §5-50 “2000-Hour/12-Year Inspection”. RHC-manufactured parts not listed in § 1-92 as requiringadditional component maintenance, or replacement per § 4-30 are “on condition”. On Condition parts are inspected checked for unusual wear, overall condition, and defects as outlined in the manufacturer and FAA acceptable standards.

The Rotorcorp R66 12-year kit includes all “remove and replace” stipulated in § 1-92 and § 5-50 in addition to overhaul exchange main rotor blades, tail rotor blades, main rotor gearbox, clutch and swashplate. We have also included all additional spares and hardware required for the easy installation of these items. The 12 year inspection procedure also include the inspection of several components (Landing Gear, Hydraulic Servos, MR Gearbox Bolts) that are “on condition” and presumed to be airworthy and returned to service for the purposes of the contents in this kit. Any defective, damaged, or non-airworthy components discovered in the process of inspection will need to be replaced separately.

IMPORTANT: § 1-91 “Scheduled Maintenance and Inspections” requires additional consultation of the following for specific applicability. as some aircraft may require maintenance and inspections in addition to the requirements of Table 1: aircraft maintenance records, manufacturer’s service, aviation regulations, airworthiness limitations, and airworthiness
directives.
