Whoever is not following Robinson Helicopter Company on Twitter (@Robinson_Heli) probably should think about doing so. What RHC lacks in quantity of tweets, they definitely make up for in quality. In November the RHC tweeter leaked news of the company’s 10,000th helicopter– which Rotorcorp was happy to report to our followers.
Now news of the 100th R66 being constructed seems that RHC is making use of the 110 new hires announced last month that will allow production to ramp up from three R66 units per week to an anticipated five units per week.
Want one? With a waiting list of over a year, customers are lining up to make the leap to Robinson’s first turbine powered helicopter which outperforms the now retired Bell 206 in nearly every category. For a terrific R66 test flight write-up, check out this very detailed account by John Croft at Flight Global who was offered a sneak peak at the new model.
